    The Heat Wave is on

A few weeks ago I met with my buddy Ray Roman at Club Revolution in Fort Lauderdale to shoot some concert performing shots while he does his magic with video for Heat Wave Band. These guys are awesome. I have worked with them before in the past and I truly think they are among one of the best live bands to have at your wedding or any event. They have a skinny guy in the band that sounds like he killed Pavarotti (RIP) and stole his voice. Thanks guys for letting me shoot your promo pictures. Here are some real eye candy images for ya. Happy Monday.

Ray Roman’s “cutting edge” steady cam. All kidding aside, thanks for calling me about this project.

    Kristel:  WOW! These are fantastic!!!
I love the colors and how the lights look. (January 6th, 2009 2:33 pm)
Natalie P.:  Stephan wow!!!!!!!! That must have been so fun!!! These pictures are AWESOME…. i am gonna check out this band. ;)#1 fan. (January 5th, 2009 11:19 pm)
Stephan:  Elle, I will be honest with you. You cant take images like those with a point and shoot. Try to increase your ISO to the highest setting possible and shoot manual without a flash. Ray, Art better sit down when he sees your video ;) (January 5th, 2009 9:44 pm)
Ray Roman:  These photos are SICK!!!!!!!! Completely off the charts!! I just showed Art and he had a freagin’ heart attack…I’m still trying to revive him. Awesome work!! (January 5th, 2009 9:25 pm)
Elle:  These images are great! I have no idea who the band is, but I plan on checking them out. I always have a hard time at concerts shooting pics. Obviously I don’t have your type of camera, but any suggestions on what setting I should try on a regular consumer digital cam? (January 5th, 2009 7:40 pm)

I have a great 1st post for 2009. We photographed Jill and Martino’s wedding 2 weeks ago at the beautiful Miami Beach Resort & Spa. I knew we had a couple that rocked when we did the engagement session (back when Martino had the James Blunt hair). This wedding was off the hook.
15 bridesmaids and 6 groomsmen, yeah baby bring it on.

Anyway, check out these images and the slideshow. We had a blast shooting this wedding. Thank you for having us there. Call me when your sisters get married. Happy New Year!

The 2nd editorial session we did last weekend on and around Lincoln Road was Laura and Gabriel’s. These two made things so easy for me. After this shoot I feel like I’ve known them for a long time. On February 28th we got a date with them to rock their wedding. Can’t wait.

Checking out the bling, bling. “For my wedding gift i’d like that”

Lincoln Road back alleys. Smells really bad back there.

Hope everyone had a good holiday season. I’m back to work after taking a few days off from the computer. Last weekend on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in South Beach, I met 2 amazing couples for some relaxed editorials. Jennifer & Florentino’s wedding at the Four Seasons is coming up real soon and I am so looking forward to this event. Here are some real amazing shots from the engagement to get you started.

I love this real moment here. Florentino, applying the choke grip.

Tis the season to be goofy

Some of you (who’s current address we have) may have already received our bombastic 2008 holiday card. As in the past we always try to take this occasion to goof around with our holiday card. This year we went with a cheesy 1978 studio portrait of a geeky couple. It was hard to make us look like geeks but we tried, and I think we succeeded.

To all of you who did not receive the card I want to encourage you to sign up to my newsletter where we occasionally offer “email only” special deals on awesome things we do. We will also send you the official Maloman Photographers holiday card each year. So sign up!

Also wanted to thank all my beautiful clients we worked with in the past. I am one happy guy to be doing what I love. This was my 5th season (full time) and it was the best one to date. I exceeded my target goal of 30 weddings per year with 36, and we moved into a new studio in downtown Fort Lauderdale. For 2009 I have some amazing things planned… it will be a good year. On a personal level, I could not be happier. Good looking and good cooking wife….what’s not to like? Looking forward to our back to back birthday celebration, starting TODAY with me and Candace tomorrow. In case you wonder, yes we do get cheated on presents. Happy Holidays!
