I just found out from a mutual friend that my friend and 2nd shooter Ryan and his family got in a bad accident on there way back from Key West where he went to celebrate his 2 year anniversary with his wife Carolina and new born Kai. Today, Ryan just called me to give me an update on his car accident.

He is banged up with some whiplash but OK, his newborn is fine, but his wife has a concussion and will need some major oral surgery as she lost a number of teeth. She will be at Baptist Hospital of Miami few days most likely.

A car cut in front of him on the two-lane road, and he could have either hit her broadside or sweve off the road. He swerved off the road and hit a palm tree head-on.

This past weekend was a very delicious one. We did not have a wedding (we kind of planned it that way) only so we can attend the annual South Beach Wine & Food festival right on the beach just of Ocean Drive. Especially now that I have a food blog with Candace we just had to go there mingle and see what this is all about. This year they increased the prices a lot from years before just so they can control all the people and yet they sold out in 3 days. We got to try so many amazing and delicious tasting foods and then there was all that wine. I don’t think I have ever seen that much wine. They basically gave you this glass that you would wear on your neck like a badge and go around and try all the wine you can drink. I of course was just “tasting” it but for some people it was like open bar.

This was so much fun, Candace was in heaven as you can imagine. Check out her blog for more detailed reviews. We will do the same next year. Here are just a few images I took. I hope you are not hungry.

Last week I went to a Sandy Puc seminar. Sandy is one of the best baby shooters in the country and since I want to get into that as well, I figured I would go and see what we can learn. What I learned was that it is much more difficult to shoot babies than anything else. Especially when you have twins. So right after that seminar loaded with ideas and inspiration, I met with Claudia at her home to shoot baby Sofia and Lucas together. Babies don’t have the patience that grown ups do so after 20 minutes or so we lost the “cuteness & silence” and we got the “crying and screaming” which makes a cute picture as well.

Anyway here is what we did, Keep in mind I am still looking for volunteer babies to practice and build a killer baby portfolio. Have a happy Friday.
