Raised in Germany, Stephan Maloman came to the USA in 1993 in the “pursuit of happiness”. After graduating with honors from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale with a major in Photography in 1996, he quickly started freelancing for local modeling agencies and publications such as Ocean Drive Magazine, Maxim and Miami Herald.
Shooting weddings was never on his agenda until friends started asking him to shoot their wedding based solely on his fashion and photojournalistic approach. His passion for shooting editorials with a photojournalistic style came in very handy in 2003 when Stephan began shooting weddings part time. Very soon he realized that he may have a gift and a passion for wedding journalism. In 2004 he gave up freelancing and started his own business shooting over 65 wedding in his first year. Stephan believes that shooting weddings has to come from the heart and that emotional images are captured when you are able to have an emotional connection with your subjects.
Stephan Maloman’s photography is infused with a fashionable, editorial eye for beauty that makes people, places, things and most importantly you look sexy, hip and oh-so-chic. Frequently featured in leading publications and sought after by discerning couples world-wide, Stephan unobtrusively captures un-staged moments of real emotion and significance by deeply connecting with the couples he works with. Stephan’s collections are made of numerous international award-winning images including fashion-forward engagement photos, hot boudoir shots, and stunning wedding photographs that clearly show-off the heart and passion he brings to his work.
Stephan’s work has been published in such publications as InStyle Weddings, The Wall Street Journal, Grace Ormonde, The Knot and Brides Magazine. In 2010 Stephan was awarded the grand award and 2 first places for photographic excellence in the wedding & portrait industry at the 30th annual Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) convention in Las Vegas, NV (the Grammy’s for photographers).
Stephan splits his time between Florida and New York with his wife Candace and 2 very spoiled chihuahuas, Sushi & Rocky and frequently shoots at exclusive & exotic destinations around the world.
