What type of equipment do you use?
I use top of the line Canon digital (Mark II & Mark III) cameras and accessories. Same goes for lenses, we have 6 “L” series lenses. I look at lenses like I look at sushi. I get the best. My assistants always carries my back up equipment to every event. We have everything 3 times including: cameras, lenses, and multiple flashes. Contact us for more specific equipment specs. I don’t want to get too technical and geeky.
How many images will I receive from my wedding coverage?
This number will vary a bit based on length of coverage, but most of my clients receive somewhere between 600 and 800 (edited) images. I do not have a set number that I try and reach for every wedding. I shoot all digital so there is not limitation, I got plenty of memory cards.
Do you shoot digital or film?
I shoot digitally these days. There are a number of advantages to digital photography. Every shot is like a polaroid, we can see how we’re doing as we go along. Because there is no limit to how many photos we shoot (there is no film), and because we can edit, we’re free to play around and try things out – which is often when we get the best shots. Digital gives me more options and no limitations as film would.
Do you shoot in color or black and white?
Both! Technically, everything I shoot is in color. This way I can offer you every option possible for your final print. By shooting in full color, I can then digitally alter the images to black and white, sepia, etc.
What is “trashing the dress”?
What will you do with that beautiful wedding dress AFTER the wedding? We could trash it. Get it dirty. Get it wet. Roll around in the sand at the beach. Drench it in the ocean.
Why? … Why not? You’ve made a commitment to your husband. He’s your one and only true love, right? Then you’ll never need the dress again. And NO, your daughter won’t wear it in 20-30 years. Would you wear your mom’s dress from 1971 today?
So you have two choices:
1) Suffocate it in plastic and throw it in a closet forever to never see the day light
2) Show your husband how committed you are to him by trashing the dress, and get some great fun pictures while you do it! After all he did a huge commitment buying that beautiful ring.
What is the purpose of an engagement session and why do I need one?
Several reasons. I almost want to make this mandatory. It gives us a chance to work with you and vice versa. I use the shoot to get to know you and get an idea of your personalities. It will make a big difference at your wedding. You will thank me later. So when I show up at your wedding, it will be like a friend with a fancy camera. Of course you will get some mind blowing editorial images from the resulting shoot. I am always having a blast doing those shoots.
Do you offer rehearsal and rehearsal dinner coverage?
Assuming we are available on that day. Coverage is 3-4 hours with online proofs. Contact the studio for more information.
Approximately how many weddings do you photograph per year?
Our main season in Florida is November-May. We try to book no more that 25-30 weddings per year, so that we can have a personal life as well ;)
Who will photograph my wedding?
Stephan will always be the main shooter. An associate may accompany him or Candace who loves to help the bride (and groom) with anything possible, she also cracks jokes when brides are nervous.
Do we get to keep the original digital files?
Yes! You will receive a DVD/CD of your digital files with every finished album.
How long after the wedding will I be able to order prints online?
Your image gallery will remain online for 180 days after the wedding. We have found that 6 months allows most of our clients and their loved ones plenty of time to place any additional print and album orders. If you find that you need additional time, additional 6 months may be purchased. You will receive a notification when your gallery is about to expire.
Why are prints ordered from your online gallery so expensive?
All images ordered from us will be different than the prints you would get from Costco or Target. I love Costco but not for wedding photo finish. Every order we receive we manually custom retouch for color correction, sharpness, true black & whites and sepia. We also retouch imperfections such as circles around the eyes, dust or dirt on jackets and sometimes we even clean the beach or make the grass greener and sky look more dramatic. All the custom work takes time, and after all these are your wedding images. Do you really want someone to have a poorly, off color printed image of your wedding? We sure don’t. For a more detailed explanation view “before & after” samples.
Do you offer professionally made custom albums?
Yes! We currently offer hand crafted, custom designed leather albums as well as digital art books from Asuka books. Please contact the studio for details or check out the “Products & Paraphernalia” section on this Blog.

Please contact the studio to discuss the details of your wedding and negotiate any necessary travel arrangements and cost.
